World Refugee Day

Throughout Refugee Week 2008 openDemocracy has hosted the voices of refugees and asylum seekers, campaigners, activists and authors in a discussion of the issues that matter in debating asylum, or sanctuary in the UK.

Today on World Refugee Day, you can listen to a special podcast from the City of Sanctuary movement in Sheffield. In the midst of an increasingly polarised debate, City of Sanctuary is leading the way in forging a culture of integration and inclusion for all. openDemocracy's Grace Davies went to Sheffield to meet some of those who have sought refuge in the former steel city, along with campaigners and activists in the field.

Find out more about City of Sanctuary here.
